ENROLLMENT/ADMISSION – GRADUATION – LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Diploma Courses
The Academy offers two Diploma courses; 650 Hour Aesthetician Diploma Course and 500 Hour Aesthetics Instructor Diploma Course. In order for a student to receive a Diploma for either course, the student will need to complete the requirement listed below. Arizona State Board of Cosmetology governs all cosmetology, aesthetics and nail tech schools in the state of Arizona. The board sets the laws, rules and regulations for all schools and licensees. To become a licensed aesthetician, one must enroll in a licensed Arizona State Board School. To become a license Aesthetics Instructor either enrolls in a licensed school and complete 500 clocked hours or apply utilizing the five (5 )year work experience. (See below for detail information). The following are the guidelines set by the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology and Academy of Aesthetics and Skin Sciences to enroll in a course of aesthetics or aesthetics instructor.
Academy Enrollment/Admission Requirements for Aesthetics
Any individual requesting to enroll in the 650 hour Diploma Aesthetics Course must provide the following documentation:
1. Schedule a tour and interview with the Director of Operations
2. Provide the appropriate documentation
3. Have one of the following; high school diploma or GED or high school transcript with at least 2 years of high school credits or proof of 23 years of age
4. Provide two passport pictures
5. Provide a valid ID (drivers license, state issued ID card, passport, or military ID
6. Complete a Aesthetics Face sheet
7. Complete the Academy Enrollment Contract
8. Pay the Registration Fee, Kit and Book Fees, Uniform Fees and the minimum of 50% Tuition Fee (see Academy Enrollment Contract)
9. Sign the Course Catalogue Guide Acknowledgment Form
Arizona State Board of Cosmetology Licensing Requirements for Aesthetics Examination
The Applicant for an aesthetics license by examination shall submit to the board the following:
1. The applicable fees required for the practical and written examination and initial personal license in R4-10-102 of the Revised Statue
2. An application provided by the Board that contains:
3. Have one of the following; high school diploma or GED or high school transcript with at least 2 years of high school credits or proof of 23 years of age
4. Have obtained a diploma from a licensed cosmetology or aesthetics school
5. Submit proper fees and forms
6. Passport pictures
7. Pass State Board written and practical exams with at least a score of 75% in each area.
8. Proper valid identification

Any individual requesting to enroll in the 500 hour Diploma Aesthetics Course must provide the following documentation:

12. Have one of the following; high school diploma or GED or proof of 23 years of age
13. Have been a licensed Cosmetologist or Aesthetician in practice for a minimum of one year;
14. Provide two passport pictures

16. Complete a Aesthetics Face sheet

Arizona State Board of Cosmetology requires that an Aesthetic Instructor must:
An Applicant for an Instructor license by examination shall
1. Have been a licensed Cosmetologist or Aesthetician in practice for a minimum of one year;
2. Have a high school diploma, GED, a high school transcript with passing grades in at least 10 credits (2 of which must be in English); or 23 years of age.
3. Have completed the required hours of instruction;
a. Documentation of required work experience
b. Proof of current licensure in the profession in which experience was gained.
c. Proof of licensure during the period experience was gained, and
d. Proof of attainment of twenty-three years of age or
e. Proof of high school equivalency
f. Documentation of graduation from a Board-licensed school by a certification of graduation on a form supplied by the Board including the starting and ending dates, total number of hours completed, and signature of the administrator of the school, and
g. If the applicant attended more than one licensed school in Arizona, a copy of a transfer application or certification of hours from each school attended, including the starting and ending dates, total number of hours completed, and signature of the administrator of the school.
4. Have obtained a diploma from a licensed cosmetology or aesthetics school;
5. Submit proper fees, forms, passport pictures;
6. Pass State Board written and practical exams with at least a score of 75% in each area.
